PMRDA Pune Ring Road

Pune is one of the fastest growing developing city in India. Pune is the one city which is growing in all directions. Pune city is also known for education hub. Because of the so much development, the population of the city is growing very fast, and we know the population brings so many problems, like pollution, traffic jam, and more. The purpose of PMRDA Pune Ring Road is to divert this traffic from outside of Pune to other cities. It will also provide connections to the important parts of the city where growth is happening. In 2007, Maharashtra government sanction a proposed Pune ring road, which will connect 29 villages around the Pune city and also all the highways such as Pune-Nashik, Mumbai-Pune-Solapur, Pune-Ahmednagar, and Pune-Satara.


Some Highlighted Points of the PMRDA Pune Ring Road Project:

1. Length Of Ring Road- 128 Kilometres.

2. The width of Ring Road- 110 Metres.

3. Required land area- 1430 Hectares.

4. Two lanes on each side.

5. Construction of Tunnels of total length 3.75 km.

6. Construction of Major Bridges 6 No.s

7. Development of Arterial Roads (Township).

8. Development of Land in Town Planning Schemes.

9. 4 + 4 lanes on each side.

10. Development of Cycle Track on both sides.

11. Development of Footpaths, Non-Motorized Transport (NMT).

12. Construction of 8 Flyovers.

13. Construction of 3 ROBs.

14. Development of Internal Roads of TP Schemes.

15. Balanced Development of Land in TP Schemes.

This project will be completed in four phases:

Phase 1: Theur Phata (On NH 9) - Kesnand - Wagholi - Charholi - Bhavdi - Tulapur - Alandi - Kelgaon - Chimbli (On NH 50)

Phase 2: Chimbli (On NH 50) - Moee - Nighoje - Sangurdi - Shelarwadi - NH 4 - Shirgaon - Chandkhed - Pachne - Pimpoli - Rihe - Ghotawde - Pirangut.

Phase 3: NH 4 -Khed Shivapur- Gogalwadi - Patharwadi - Bhivri - Kanifnath - Theur Phata (On NH 9)
